The march began from College Square, Kolkata, and moved towards the Assembly. Despite being a peaceful demonstration, Kolkata Police attempted to block the march by setting up barricades, but students continued their march with determination.
A four-member delegation proceeded to the Legislative Assembly to submit a memorandum highlighting the following demands:
- •Immediate restoration of the previous OBC reservation policy.
- Strengthen academic and infrastructural development of Murshidabad University and other new universities.
- Reinstate democratic student union elections in all institutions.
- Ensure regular funding and adequate hostel facilities for Aliah University.
- Reopen closed primary schools and fill all vacant posts urgently.
- Conduct SSC, PSC, CSC, Primary, and all recruitment processes transparently and regular.
- Protect the minority character of Madrasas and ensure fair teacher and staff appointments.
- Introduce community engagement programs to reduce school dropouts.
- Launch skill-based and job-oriented courses in degree colleges.
- Increase PG seats in state medical colleges and restart regular recruitment in the health sector.
- Restore MANF and allocate higher budgets for government scholarships.
- Reform the education system to promote moral and responsible citizenship.
- Ensure safe, discrimination-free, and inclusive campuses.
- Resume recruitment for all vacant healthcare posts.
- Publish and implement a comprehensive State Job Calendar.
